OUCH!!

Yesterday my husband had a small arthroscopy procedure done to his knee. Everything went fine, he will be resting for 1-2 more days before he goes back to work, but he is luckily in very little pain. Then this a.m. I am sitting with my coffee looking at some great blog I like to relax with.....there in My Favorite Things, a fabulous blog by Dawn Mcvey, her husband has the same surgery, I think on the same day......how weird is that??!! Could luck Bart!!
Color Combo #115

Here is a fun site called Color Combos Galore They have a weekly challenge, which I know many of you love the conquest..... For this weeks challenge you were to use: brown, lt. blue, dusty pink, and some green. Here is what I came up with....this a picture of my step daughter, Brianna; she looked like the top picture when she got out of bed. I asked her, "is that how you want to look?" She then shot me her pose......fabulous!!

Mojo Mondays (day late)
Kristina's Color Challenge
This weeks color challenge from Kristina was hard; trying to put an orange, yellow, brown with a purple together does not sound good....but I think I did well. Using Pocket Silhouettes from SU, the card base is Eggplant Envy with some So Saffron and Close to Cocoa behind the beautiful flowers that I colored with markers. Added some So Saffron ribbon and a rub on....viola

Kristina's Color Inspiration
Using Pacific Point, Taken with Teal, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant from Kristina's color inspiration was interesting to say the least. That is what I love about all the inspiration challenges, these are definately not colors that one would choose first, but I think it worked. I choose to omit the teal and only used 3 colors, but here is my attempt. Have a great day!!

BIC30 for Beate's Inspiration Challenge
Here is my try for Beate's Inspiration Challenge. I used SU black, Taken with Teal, Tempting Turquiouse and So Saffron and made my own "Prima-like" flowers. I used the Cozuzzle, made different size circles, distressed the paper and WA-La.....they look a little like the real ones, even though I have not had a real Prima in my hand, I have seen them.......what do you think?
Getting ready to Vote.
Encouraging everyone to go out and VOTE today. I am not a big fan of politics, in fact; I feel that everyone in politics is soooo crooked it makes America and the American dream {sad}.....but I will put my face of hope on and vote for who I think will do better than the last 8yrs. Hopefully the gas prices will stay where they are or get even better ($2.04 here in MN). Absolutely ridiculous that gas was close to $4.00 a gallon!!!!
Day late.....
Late last night I worked on a challenge for 'Mojo Monday' a card sketch from Julee. Another thing I tried was to break out all my Close to my Heart products. I keep buying them from my sister (she sells CTMH, I sell SU) I think I get so used to the Stampin Up products since that is all I have owned for years.....hard to think about other colors and stamp sets. One thing I do like (a Lot) is the clear acrylic, easy to line up images. Even tho....I love my Stamp-a-jig!!! Here is my card:

Home
Sitting in the San Diego airport waiting for our flight. Love to go on vacation, but LOVE to go home! That is the one thing I think is the most important about vacations, you can go and have a great time......but going home is even better than being ON the vacation.
Tomorrow I will take some time to post pictures and get some stamping done. Also, I am in the market for a blog banner. Need to do a little research, anyone have any suggestions.....I would love to hear from you.

Kristina's color challenge
This weeks colors were bashful blue, rose red, so saffron, wild wasabi and whisper white. I love the challenge because these are not colors I would have ever put together.....so here is what I came up with, a cute card for some lucky little 4 year old. I used the Crazy for Cupcake set from SU! along with the Take a number wheel. I am not sure if you can see the Dazzling Diamonds on the cupcake, looks better IRL.

I'm baaack!
For anyone that has ever viewed my blog, I want to get back on the stamping wagon. I am trying to find time to do what I love (stampin' & scrappin') and as you all know it is hard to balance everything! I will try to post a miniumum of 3 times weekly (vacations are unpredictable) but my goal is to start playing along with the many color challenges and layout sketches I see in all the wonderful blogs I look at everyday with my morning coffee. Hope to hear from anyone that may be surfin'.

challenges
Good morning everyone, hope all had a fun and relaxing 4th! I am catching up on some challenges this morning (my son is sleeping in after being up so late for fireworks) First card is the sketch challenge 131 from SCS. I used the new In Colors; Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, and Groovy Guava. The stamp set is 'Polka dots & Paisley, then I stamped a paisley background stamp on the Twill tape just to break up the Guava a bit.
Second card is the color challenge, using Choc. Chip, Old Olive, and Pretty in Pink. First time using the chip board I covered it with a glue stick and using a sanding block you sand the edges and the excess paper comes off, looks slightly distress at the edges. The stamp set used was 'Looks like Spring', the coordinating punch and some brads.

Bug Swap
Here is a view of my first ATC (Artist Trading Cards). These little cards are 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 and can fit in a baseball sleeve. I am part of a swap through SCS, Amanda also known as Tropicalchick is putting on a swap for these ATC's. I signed up for the Bug Swap, so we were to use any SU bugs and at least 2 layers of cardstock and 2 embellishments. This is my first swap, so I can't wait to see what I get in return. Which also reminds me that I best be getting super busy to get swaps done for the CONVENTION.....I can't wait!!!!
